Charlese in The X-Factor

Charlese was a contestant in the 1st series of the UK's top TV talent programme, Simon Cowell's "The X-FACTOR" on ITV. 

From over 50,000 applicants Charlese managed to get as far as the final 27 contestants in the 2nd day of 'Boot Camp' in London, a great experience. 

She was in the 'Under 25' group, alongside finalist Tabby, with Sharon Osbourne as her Mentor and Mark Hudson as Vocal Coach and staunch supporter!   In the auditions she even elicited some positive feedback from Simon Cowell who forecasted she would get to the final top twenty... he was nearly right!   Listen to Charlese HERE

Charlese in The Big Audition

Charlese was a contestant in Jamie Cullum's 'The Big Audition' in association with Pizza Express.  From over 8,000 entries Charlese was chosen as one of the Top 50 and performed in the regional heat in Leeds with Matthew Shaw on Guitar, Chris Hodder on Bass and Daniel Smith on Sax. They won after performing 'Turn on Them Lights', a song written by Matthew Shaw and got through to the Top 10. They then had a masterclass with Jamie Cullum at the Pizza Express Jazz Club on Dean Street, London. They performed 'Hard Kinda Woman', another song written by Matthew Shaw. 

Charlese and Matt also appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire, being interviewed by John Gillmore & showcasing 'Hard Kinda Woman'.

Charlese in OpenMic UK

Charlese came 2nd in the Open Mic UK Regional Finals in Liverpool getting through to the Grand Final at "The Willows" in Manchester in December 2009.  Although she didn't win she got some great feedback from the judges, in particular
Asher Halle of Green Pepper Junction Records.

Charlese performed an acoustic version of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" at the Regional Finals, CLICK HERE to watch a video of her performance.

At the Grand Final Charlese performed her own take on Candi Staton's classic "You Got The Love" accompanied by backing singers Katie Severns and Steph Wright.  The backing track was arranged and created by Matthew Shaw and Charlese.  CLICK HERE to watch a video of her performance
